A conceptual model of the strategies and techniques of family therapy is presented. Attention is drawn to the complex relationships between the family therapist's manner of relating, the strategies and techniques which he or she employs, the presenting problem or problems, the particular characteristics of the family, and the development phase of the family therapy process.
